So much goodness in this post! It's like I'm reading a breakdown of what's really going on in my head as I contemplate a physical move of my own. Thanks for sharing, bud!
The immense sense of pride I have is competing with this internal emotional welling that just wants to scream "fucking right on!". i know your journey, and can viscerally relate to the different stops and the impact they have had. the courage of you, and your wife, to move towards a place, and show and live the adventure with your boys is epic, and is the step that most talk about struggle to actually take. We are all rooting for you here, each and every one of you, and we miss you, but are also so, so proud. So grab your Albert Heijn bag, load up some fresh tulips in your bike basket and ride into the rain, towards a place, to your next play date!
Thanks so much for sharing. Growing up as an expat/third-culture kid, I can attest that you're doing your kids a tremendous service. Have thought of returning to the expat life, including for the benefit of my own children. Would love to catch up sometime, it's been far too long!
Absolutely. Writing this from Berlin, where we first met all those years ago... The third-culture life is fascinating, giving you adaptability but also challenging your sense of belonging.
I loved all of this, but esp loved paragraph "You’re probably amazing at one thing, not many different things" -- there is so much wisdom there. Really, really good.
A culture of "relentless play dates" has me laughing. Love your insights here Andreas, very inspiring.

So much here that is too true and too useful. We are always dreaming of our big international adventure- I will use this as my guide.
I've got more for you! Can't wait to catch up, and thank you for the kind words

Thank you very kindly
This is amazing. Thank you.
I find there's a lot of clarity that comes after talking with you.
